Week 31: My Pregnancy Journey

How Far Along: 31 weeks

Size of Baby L: 3.3 lbs 16" according to Babycenter. Probably bigger based on our ultrasound last week

Total Weight gain: 25-26 lbs

Gender: Boy

Movement: Big swift movements where it feels like he is turning. Also, some big strong kicks that you can see from across the room. So fun!!

Sleep: Doing pretty well. This past week has just been H-O-T with highs in the 100s! Hubby got me a new fan and now I can finally sleep with at least a sheet.

What I miss: Glass of wine, but really I kind of like being pregnant.

Cravings: Nothing really in particular this week.

Symptoms: Fatigue, impatience and crabbiness. Unfortunately, the wrath of Katie has come out a few times in the last week.

Nursery Stats: The rocker/recliner has arrived! The guest bed has been taken apart and the carpet unrolled. Now just waiting on the crib. Still waiting.......

Best Moment of the Week: Seeing our baby boy on the ultrasound screen. It's amazing that we created this little guy and in several more weeks he will join us!

Big Decisions: Nothing too big. We did get a piece of art work for the nursery that we both love!!

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Indy Friends Shower

Last weekend we were blessed to have my sister-in-law throw us a fun summer cook out shower with our friends up in Indy. It was a relaxed afternoon spent devouring yummy food, catching up with friends and cooling off in the pool. Baby L. was spoiled yet again with many wonderful gifts. Whoever thought one tiny little dude could require so much stuff. Here is a brief photo collage from the days events:

Tip: If you click on the photo above you can make it larger.
Unfortunately, I didn't get a photo with my mother in law. (Dianne we must get a pic at the next shower!!) Also, missed a photo op with Mike's cousin Mindy who flew in from Virginia. Thanks everyone for such a wonderful day!!

Week 30: My Pregnancy Journey

How Far Along: 30 weeks

Size of Baby L: 3 lbs 15.7" according to Babycenter. According to our ultrasound measurements 3lbs 5oz.

Total Weight gain: 23-24 lbs

Gender: Boy

Movement: Movements are a lot smaller. Baby L has had some hiccups and I think I felt his head shift the other day.

Sleep:Still pretty decent. I wake up probably 3 times a night to use the restroom. Leg cramps still waking me up so I have to stretch. Also, I get really hot, but for the most part its been decent.

What I miss: Sleeping on my stomach or back. Also, laying on my stomach to read books.

Cravings: Watermelon. I had a craving for sour cream and onion chips and we got a bag on our way home from Indy. Satisfied it perfectly. I've been trying to eat healthier so luckily the cravings haven't been bad.

Symptoms: Fatigue, leg cramps, being hot and a few braxton hicks contractions.

Nursery Stats: Still waiting on the furniture. The glider should arrive this weekend and the crib hopefully by next weekend. Fingers crossed.

Best Moment of the Week: Celebrating baby L's upcoming arrival with family and friends in Indy. It was great to see everyone and relax. Also, loved swimming laps in the pool at Mike's parents house Sunday morning. Quiet morning with the sun shining down on the pool. It brought me back to swim lesson days. Oh and I almost forgot the relief in finalizing my work schedule.

Big Decisions: Finalized my schedule for when I come back after maternity leave.

Back later with 3D ultrasound pics!

Week 29: My Pregnancy Journey

How Far Along: 29 weeks

Size of Baby L: 2.5lbs 15.25"

Total Weight gain: 23-24 lbs

Gender: Boy

Movement: Movements are a lot sharper this week. I'm thinking elbows maybe :) The craziest feeling is when he rumbles around in my stomach like he is flipping around. All of a sudden you just feel him shift. Mike felt it the other day and I think he was a little freaked out.

Sleep: Doing well. Getting more anxious, which is keeping me up later. Bathroom breaks and leg cramps are usually what wake me. The other night he was a having a dance party that lasted till about 11:30.

What I miss: Other than looking in a mirror and seeing a normal reflection not much. This is a pretty remarkable experience and is such a privilege to be able to go through.

Cravings: Same. Crunchy stuff. Lays potato chips. Always have to have something crunchy. Carrots for good measure.

Symptoms: Fatigue, leg cramps, being emotional and crying, usually about twice a week, which is far more than I've cried in a long time.

Nursery Stats: Waiting on furniture.... Hoping it will all arrive the weekend of the 22nd so we can start putting it together!!

Best Moment of the Week: Celebrating baby L's upcoming arrival with my friends. It was so much fun to see everyone and catch up. Also, per usual and to add to the sappy factor having Mike feel the baby's kicks. I love seeing his reaction!

Big Decisions: Buying a pair of wedges ;) Really I've kind of taken a break from nursery planning, pregnancy and childcare reading. I'll pick it back up every few days, but sometimes it's nice not feeling overwhelmed with all that is going to change in a few months.

Nursery Progress

Not a ton of progress in regards to set up at this point. Here are some before shots of our guest room that will be turned into the nursery:

A sneak peek at nursery patterns/colors:

Week 27 & Week 28: My Pregnancy Journey

Sorry I missed posting last week and I didn't take a picture. Here's the update:

How Far Along: 27 weeks

Size of Baby L:2 lbs 14.5"

Total Weight gain: 21-22lbss (uggh)

Gender: Boy

Movement: Been busy so I don't feel him much till I slow down. I feel him in the morning when I wake up and then again mid afternoon. Always in the evenings. He kicked up high the other day and that was a strange feeling

Sleep: Pretty good. The only interruption other than bathroom breaks were from storms. Two nights this last week we had some nasty thunderstorms roll in and they woke all of us up.

What I miss: Being thinner. I'm just feeling big lately.

Cravings: Organic Gala Apples, sweets and crunchy stuff.

Symptoms: Crabby

Nursery Stats: Still waiting on the crib. Ordered the rug and that should arrive next week. Will be ordering the glider this weekend.

Best Moment of the Week: While hanging out with my nephews, J.P. and I were sitting on the couch and all of a sudden I notice his little hand on my belly, asking if I feel the baby move. It was a very sweet moment.

Big Decisions: None that I can think of. I bit the bullet and ordered the giraffe print rug. I guess that was a big decision for me.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How Far Along: 28 weeks
Size of Baby L: 2.25lbs 14.8"
Total Weight gain: 21.5-22 lbs
Gender: Boy
Movement: Totally random and while his movements seemed to be on my right side they've definitely migrated to different locations. Sometimes I feel him up high and sometimes way low. This boy is flipping around.
Sleep: Still holding pretty strong. Woke up with a charlie ;) horse and some leg cramps, but that's about it other than the routine bathroom trips.
What I miss: Not a ton. Mostly just get frustrated when I'm not able to do things because I'm pregnant.
Cravings: Crunchy stuff. Lays potato chips are tasty and I've never really liked them before. Watermelon.
Symptoms: Leg cramps
Nursery Stats: Still waiting on the crib.Picked up the rug and love it! Can't wait to see the room put together. We also ordered our rocker/recliner. Keeping my fingers crossed that everything will go together.
Best Moment of the Week: Nothing super exciting. I'm really enjoying spending time with Mike before baby arrives.
Big Decisions: Ordered the rocker.
Happy 4th of July!
Happy 4th of July!!
In honor  of 4th Mike and I spent the weekend with family and of course eating. Yesterday we went down to my parents lake house. Despite the 4 inches of rain that dumped down on us over a 6 hour time span we still managed to have a great time. While the sun was out we spent time relaxing in the hammock. When the rain came on we resorted to hanging on the porch swing and playing card games with the kids. Lots of grilling going on! Tonight we grilled out, ate chicken, corn on the cob and cole slaw. For dessert I made a yummy mini apple crisp to share. This was a great treat and while I could have eaten more it was perfect to share with a bit of vanilla ice cream. Enjoy!
